Pictured here is myself and the bride is my eldest daughter Evonne,
this picture was taken in June 2006 on her wedding day........the day my
daughter began her new life with the man of her dreams. As it is the most
recent picture of both of us, and neither one of us likes being in pictures, I
thought I would use this one to introduce us.
I chose Evonne to be
pictured here with me, because she is just as much a part of Cupidtown as I am
and always will be, regardless of her life changes.
When I first began
Cupidtown, my three children, Evonne, Patricia, and Michael were very young. Many years ago now! I began with my passion, the Pomeranians and
although back in those early days, we did not do many shows, in years to come,
showing dogs on weekends became quite the family affair. As my children became
older, they all participated with the exhibition of our much loved dogs. They
competed in Junior Handlers competitions as well as in the conformation show
ring. However, Evonne, was my back bone and my strength and was also involved
in the breeding aspect, right up until she got married. Although she is still
interested, she doesn't now participate in the breeding aspect, apart from interest,
due to the fact that physically, we live a distance apart.
With our
Pomeranians, we reached our successes and took out a lot of major awards,
including the elusive and prestigious award of Best Toy Exhibit with our home
bred and owner handler, Matthew, at the Royal Melbourne Show in 1996. To my
knowledge, there has not been another Pom to win that award at one of the
biggest and most prestigious shows. Matthew was one of my biggest winners, also
gaining many other top awards at All Breeds Championship shows during his show
career and Best Of Breed at the Royal three consecutive times. Happily, there were other such stars in Cupidtown also.
I later
decided to get involved with Pugs as well. Our dedication to that breed also
brought us a lot of success, in and out of the show ring. When we decided to
call it quits with the Pugs, some fifteen years later, we took on the Japanese
Chin breed.
I have been involved in breeding and exhibition for the past
twenty eight years of my life. Although now, due to life changes, I no longer
exhibit dogs, I do still find great pleasure in producing top quality dogs
through breeding and learning of their successes with other exhibitors showing "Cupidtown" dogs. I have dedicated over half my life to the love of dogs and I
hope to continue for a good more many years.
Friends, family, and
colleges, from here in my home country, Australia, as well as from all around
the world, whom got to know me, requested that I write a book about dogs, and
that is how my book "Let's Talk Dogs" came to be created, for which again,
Evonne was also a contributor. It is available for sale through this site, for
anyone interested. Following this book, I went on to write "Breeding Precious Puppies" only the second one is only available on CD.
I will continue to strive to breed the best I can as
my passion for dogs is never ending. I have bred top winning champion dogs,
taking great honors, I now continue to breed the same but leave the exhibition
side to others.
As well as the above, I love gardening, knitting, and being creative. I am a doll collector and love to reborn baby dolls. I am also an author and love writing.
Thank you for visiting my web site and I hope you enjoy
your stay and come back again soon. I try to make this site as informative and
interesting as possible, for your benefit, and my pleasure.
